About Dr Sellick
After receiving my Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town Medical School in South Africa, I completed my postgraduate training in the United Kingdom. I gained membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners on completion of the General Practice (GP) vocational training scheme in 2003, and have over 10 years’ clinical experience working in primary care in the UK. I have a special interest in education, and was a certified trainer, involved in teaching and training new GPs. I relocated to the USA in 2013 with my family, to support my husband in a new career opportunity. I am now working as a freelance medical writer.
My primary care experience allows me to have a good medical knowledge of numerous chronic conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, and asthma in the context of primary care. My clinical experience includes caring for a large range of patients, from infants through to the elderly. In addition, I am skilled in knowledge and understanding of a large range of women’s health issues, including family planning and contraceptive choices.
